Labatt 24-hour relay scrapped

There will be no more laps around Harris Park to benefit the Children's Aid Society of Middlesex-London. It was announced Monday that the Labatt 24-Hour Relay won't be held this year. With a large deficit, difficulties in recruiting enough teams, and uncertainty about how much money can be raised, the Children's Aid decided it couldn't front the 60-thousand dollars it cost to stage the event. And so, several communtiy programs the Society provides are at risk unless more donations come in.
